Renee Garafano's innovation and passion make her a true artist. It has shaped her personal career and has been the motivation factor model for the staff at Glendale Salonspa. This core principle has sent her to seminars across the United States and Europe. She has trained at the Aveda Institute in London, as well as many classes with global masters throughout the years. Her true desire is to share her visions and educate young stylists. She is currently training to become an Aveda educator.

Once she completes the necessary training and schooling she will hold the exclusive title of "Aveda Purefessional", which means that she will educate stylists around the world. Renee teaches and encourages her staff to constantly evolve and strive for education. Her true desire is to share her visions and educate young stylists. Renee's high-level mastery of her trade enables her to create any style effortlessly. Her enthusiasm for learning and her dedication to bringing her guests the best available services are among the many reasons her chair is never empty.

After graduating from Abraham Freedman Occupational Center with a certified license in Cosmetology, Heather Migliaccio came to Glendale Salonspa to begin an apprenticeship program under the tutelage of owner and master stylist, Renee Garafano. She has recently completed an extensive two-year training program and currently holds an apprentice license. She is awaiting a test date for her Cosmetology license. However she has already proven herself to be an invaluable member of the Glendale Salonspa team, providing excellent service and making a name for herself amongst her clientele. Heather's experience in both salon and spa services make her a beauty chameleon. We are very excited to witness her evolution and continuous growth.

stylist/massage therapist

Multi-talented, multi-tasking, and always willing to lend a hand, Tamera Renn, a native of Glendale, brings over twenty years of experience to the Glendale Salonspa. Specializing in perms and men’s hairstyles, Tamera’s intuitive touch also provides manicures, pedicures and facials to guests of the Glendale Salonspa. Her desire to further perfect her skills led her to participate in progressive instruction at the Aveda Institute in London and pursue many classes with Aveda Global Masters including intense instruction in Men’s styling and facial specialties. In the summer of 2005, Tamera completed courses to become a Massage Therapist, her skills have proven to be very therapeutic and restoring.  Tamera’s quiet warmth, attention to technique, and great eye for color leave her guests reluctant to leave her chair.

With thirty years of experience, Barbara Sherman is a committed veteran and master stylist. Barbara’s career began at San Francisco’s Yosh for Hair, which then led her to teach advanced haircutting for six years.
Barbara joined the Glendale Salonspa fifteen years ago and has since mentored many young stylists. Recently, Barbara attended the Aveda Institute in London to expand her skills and feed her desire to consistently exceed her guest’s expectations. Her celebrity clients include Julie Payne (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Keri Tombazian (radio), and Jennifer Rhodes (Charmed), just to name a few.  Specializing in color, Barbara is truly a dynamic designer, capable of conquering any style, from the simple to the sublime, with panache.  Her contributions to Glendale Salonspa have been immeasurable and her personality brings a contagious happiness to all she encounters.

manager/aveda consultant

Grace came to Glendale Salonspa in April of 2005.  In December of 2005 she became the full time Manager and has since also become an Aveda Consultant.  Grace shares Renee’s passion for the Aveda Lifestyle believing that in treating ourselves, each other, and the planet with care and respect, we can create a better world to live in.  She enjoys educating guests about the efforts we make along with Aveda to contribute to economical responsibility and awareness.  Her ambition and commitment to creating a relaxing salon environment have provided our stylists with a new excitement for their art form. Grace is very excited to work with such an amazing group of talented artists and looks forward to many more successful adventures at Glendale Salonspa.

cosmetologist/ salon assistant

Ani is Glendale Salonspa’s youngest and sweetest family member. In the year 2006 she graduated from both high school and Moro Beauty College.
Her ambition and dedication has inspired everyone in her presence. Much of her inspiration comes from her Mom, who is also a stylist. As Renee’s assistant she is privy to the very best education and has an opportunity to train within the Aveda network. Her belief in Aveda and their business concept comes from a genuine concern for environmental responsibility. In her spare time Ani enjoys dancing and is attending college classes for business.
